Independence Statement
This School of Rock franchise analysis is published by Franchise Financing Guide, an independent editorial operation that produces franchise intelligence for prospective investors, lenders, and advisors. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or otherwise connected to School of Rock Franchising LLC or its parent company, Youth Enrichment Brands, LLC. We do not sell franchises, broker franchise transactions, or receive referral fees from any franchisor.
Our editorial standard is straightforward: present the data that exists, identify the data that does not, and explain what both mean for someone writing a check. We do not publish promotional content. We do not soften findings to avoid uncomfortable conclusions. When the FDD discloses profitability figures only for company-owned schools and withholds them for franchised locations, we say so plainly and explain why that omission matters to your financial model.
Every figure cited in this analysis traces back to a publicly available source — primarily the Franchise Disclosure Document filed by School of Rock Franchising LLC, supplemented by state franchise registration records, public business filings, and industry data. We do not use proprietary data, insider information, or unverifiable claims from anonymous sources. Where we offer interpretation or analysis beyond the raw data, we label it as such and explain our reasoning.
This approach exists because the franchise investment process is structurally asymmetric. The franchisor controls the narrative during discovery days, validation calls, and territory presentations. The FDD is a dense legal document that most prospective franchisees read once, if at all. Independent analysis that translates the FDD into plain language and highlights the questions the document raises but does not answer serves the investor’s interest in making a fully informed decision.
Methodology
The Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD) is the primary source for every quantitative claim in this analysis. The FDD is a federally mandated document that franchisors must provide to prospective franchisees at least 14 days before any agreement is signed or any payment is made. It contains 23 items covering the franchisor’s financial history, litigation record, fee structure, territorial rights, and — in Item 19, when the franchisor chooses to include it — financial performance data for existing units.
School of Rock Franchising LLC does include an Item 19 in its current FDD, which provides revenue data for both franchised and company-owned schools. This is more disclosure than many franchisors offer, and we note that transparency where it applies. However, the Item 19 does not include profitability data for franchised locations — only for company-owned schools — which creates a significant information gap that we address directly in our FDD & Financial Analysis.
Our analytical methodology follows a consistent framework across all franchise brands we cover. We extract every quantitative data point from the FDD and organize it into comparable categories: investment range, fee structure, revenue distribution, profitability (where disclosed), unit growth trends, and territorial terms. We then contextualize those figures against industry benchmarks, comparable franchise systems, and the operational realities specific to each business model.
What we do not do is equally important. We do not project future performance. We do not guarantee returns. We do not adjust FDD figures based on assumptions about what a “good operator” might achieve. The data in the FDD reflects historical performance under specific conditions, and extrapolating from it requires assumptions that each prospective investor must evaluate for themselves based on their market, their capital structure, and their operating plan.
Corrections & Contact
Accuracy is the foundation of this publication. If you identify a factual error, an outdated figure, or a data point that has been superseded by a newer FDD filing, we want to know. We verify corrections against source documents before publishing updates, and we note material changes with revision dates.
